AWESOME NIGHT.

I want to thank everyone who came to the opening on Thursday. I had a blast. I was surprised how many fit into this place! The Acme Bros sounded awesome and it completely fit the mood of the show. Below are some pictures, more on the myspace. The show is up until March 5th.

f you live in the area be sure to pick up a copy of the Times Beacon Record and look for me!

can I say or see more?

Even though I have a hard time with this I am going to vote for listening because these past two weeks have been devoting my time to sitting on the 4th floor of SVA listening to teachers from 10am-8pm.

A week of sort of catching up to do before my life gets taken over with teaching and schooling.

I went to see a fabulous art show by a friend of mine Christine Kane over at Cool Beanz in St. James. The artwork was beautiful and I suggest you go if you haven’t already. Krista and I will be having our show next week February 5th, see below for flyer and information.

Also, I participated in a hair and makeup photo shoot yesterday which was tons of fun, and I am still picking out confetti and silly string from my hair.

This blog is going to be slow for a while, but I promise you new images from this upcoming show will be posted soon. KIT, baby.

i’m bringing sexy back

Back to the grind. Well, in about a week.

It amazes me how much one month can make a difference in your life. I got a chance to see a lot of people I haven’t seen, and a chance to actually relax and be lazy for once. I also learned how to make an array of drinks thanks to a side bartending job!

I am going to try my hand at making a DIY pinhole lens for my camera. I am in the midst of planning a cross country road trip this summer with someone who loves to travel. These two sentences really don’t go together.

On side note, a good friend of mine who goes by the name of LAST WITNESS is going to be doing a photoshoot in the infamous Mills Pond House in St. James this weekend. Hair did. check. sweet clothes. check. photos to come soon. double check.

O.K. so this is January, and in February I will be in a show with a good friend of mine, Krista Biedenbach at Toast Coffeehouse in Port Jefferson. The theme is a good one, and lots of hearts for the Valentines day month. And, well, love is something I have been really into this past month….so I feel I should express it.

Below is a sketch for an idea on a final image for the show. This is about as much of a preview as you’re gonna get.

Tights are overrated.

registered for life

A few things happening in the next few months! First off, I am getting back to my colored roots and going back to pink and purple hair in 2 days! I cannot stand the basic brown and hopefully will never go back again, it’s just not me.

Another thing is that my website redesign is coming along great, and I also got some help from a very nice friend who knows a little more about web codes than I do. So I am shooting for the end of the month to get this new site up as long as my HW doesn’t get in the way :)

Upcoming duel show will be announced in February with a very good friend of mine Krista Biedenbach which will feature Valentine’s Day themed work as well as collaborations. Stay tuned for more info on this! I am also working on more shows after December with new artwork and hopefully more handmade wallets and other goodies.

I am glad this sememster is almost over. I am glad it is cold out. I am glad I can enjoy hot chocolate. I am glad i got some sweet new boots for the kickin’ weather.

However, I am NOT glad that I am getting up at 4am Tuesday morning to drive some buddies of mine to the airport. :) you know who you are!

I’ll post some new sketches tomorrow, and upcoming ideas.

ART SHOW

This Thursday, September 11 at Toast Coffeehouse in Port Jefferson.

“FRESH Art Long Island is pleased to announce the opening of its second annual group retrospective. This exhibition spotlights many of the talented artists that have not only shown with FRESH over the last year, but that have made a significant impact on the rising Long Island art scene. While a retrospective tends to look backward, celebrating the past, the FRESH retrospective focuses on the future. Included are some of Long Islands most engaging and prolific emerging artists, some old favorites and some new blood.”

Sugar Babies

Hey Kids!So this weekend is going to be super busy! Saturday night I suggest you come out to Brooklyn and see The Woolgathering play at TRASH BAR. Then come Sunday to Painter’s Art Bar in Bellport for new artwork, live music, and live aerosol art. Below is a new painting I had worked on for the show titled “Sugar Babies I” which is 24×30. This is going to be an ongoing series. I have 3 pieces in the show so this is just a preview of what’s to come. Is it just me or is my summer flying by? sugar-baby.jpg

happy happy joy joy!!!

Just got my new printer and scanner in the mail today and I am PSYCHED!! They are both so much bigger than my previous scanner and printer that I had to make a ton of room just to put them somewhere.  I can’t wait to start using them tonight!  Don’t forget the next show is at Painter’s on August 24th…which is also the day of my birth. There are big plans for my birthday, which is going to be a duel birthday with bands and a dj…but I am not posting the flyer on here…invite only :)  double.jpg

balloons, kites, and hippos…oh my!

 rhino.gif

As I mentioned the other day, I had finally made it after 10 years to the Museum of Natural History. I already want to go back.

Another exciting event I had attended this weekend was the Mega Jam Balloon Festival out east of Long Island. I forgot my sketchbook but was able to take loads of photos during that gorgeous day. I will, however, make a HUGE complaint about the $25 admission fee on top of the $10 for a parking spot in a smelly field. I would have to say the highlight of my day was riding the Kamikaze and getting lost in a field of kites the size of my house. I also caught a little bit of Naughty by Nature playing OPP on my way out. Oh, yea….and the monster trucks!! The truck show wasn’t as big as actually going to a monster truck show…but there is definitely some sort of excitement and energy I get from watching huge wheelers pummeling cars and flying off ramps. I was in a bad spot in the sun so I didn’t get too many good photos. The day ended at a friends house for a party with the addition of White Castle on the way home. That last piece of information was highly regrettable.
