For one of my class projects in technology in art ed, we had to listen to music and create a collage that represented the music and how we felt while listening to it. It was an interesting idea, and I have to admit I had fun just playing around in Photoshop. Each piece is a composite of 5 different songs.

On my day off I finally made it to the Bronx Zoo. I had tons of fun and fell in love with a mini monkey while spending time in the Monkey House. Below are some of my favorite photos. Here is also a photo of my dog Angel and some ants in my front yard. Enjoy!

I had spent this last weekend in New Jersey with my boyfriend and friends for the Volkswagen Waterfest. Although we ran into a TON of problems from day one, we still have a ton of fun. I didn’t take my good camera only because it was 100 degrees out and I didn’t want to be carrying around such a huge camera while it was sweating off my neck. I have come to the conclusion that I LOVE VW GTI’s! I saw this red and black one and another with pink wheels and I just fell in love. Surprisingly, the SPF 70 worked great and I am still pale as ever.
In other news, the piece below is a new one titled “Sweetest Downfall” It is a drawing that was digitally colored with lyrics to a Regina Spektor song. I use songs lyrics to describe what I am feeling, and what I am drawing. The music and my ideas both influence each other. I want to branch out into my own writing, and also collaborating with other writers as well and see what happens. I have two art shows the first weekend of August. I hope to see some of you there! There is going to be a cotton candy machine at the Lealand Eve opening!

The topic for this week is “Forgotton”. I had just finished this piece and thought it was perfect for this topic. I had drawn this stuffed bear that was left on a bench by a park. He was all alone, sad, and forgotton. I feel bad for him.

I really need to update my website. So here are a few more pieces that are up at Painter’s in Bellport. Those are sold, but I will also be selling a second set this Saturday at my show. I was feeling a little springy when doing these ones. Comments?

I have decided my official website needs major updating!! So in the next few months I will be coming out with a whole new site. I will still be updating on this blog so don’t worry! The new website will start under construction in June and hopefully finished by August.
I recently bought an infrared filter for my camer and took a few shots of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Below is a photo of the main building, and the other is of the grounds. I am beginning to love this filter! The b/w image almost looks as though there is snow on the ground. Comments please!

Here is a preview of some of the pieces I have in the Small Works show opening this Thursday at Toast.

This week’s topic is SAVE. I started this out as a sketch with the intention of redrawing it and using watercolor….but I will be very busy this week and wanted to get it done before Friday so I opted for digital color. This one was a quickie and taken directly from my sketch. I eventually want to redraw this one and use watercolor. It depicts a little girl who is saving her money for a new ballet dress.

Just finished another print for the ‘Love Song’ series! I am really liking the way all of these came out, each one different yet similar. I have been meaning to work more digitally, and its about time I am! I have a few more projects I want to finish, that are both digital and illustration, with collage involved.
Let me know what you think of these! I’d love to hear your comments!
